Introduction

はじめに

Kaiseki and the Hyotei egg, by Nanzen-ji, Kyoto.

A kaiseki restaurant in Nanzenji Kusagawacho, Kyoto. The official site states that it began as a roadside tea house that also served as a gatehouse for Nanzen-ji, with a history of over 400 years. The main building consists of separate, individually built tea rooms; besides its signature "Hyotei egg", morning rice porridge is also served at the main house in July and August.
